CARDIMAP Maharishi Ayurveda is a completely herbal Ayurvedic preparation, widely used for hypertension, insomnia, nervous tension, and depressive conditions. It contains known antihypertensive and sedative components: sarpagandha (Rauwolfia serpentina), jatamansi (Nardostachys jatamansi), shankhpushpi (Convolvulus pluricaulis), brahmi (Bacopa moniera), pippali (Piper longum). The drug lowers blood pressure due to the synergy of sarpagandha and jatamansi:

Sarpagandha calms vata and is effective for high blood pressure without atheromatous vascular changes.

Jatamansi enhances the antihypertensive and sedative effects of sarpagandha. The essential oils it contains lower blood pressure and soothe. It is also used in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.

Shankhpushpi and Brahmi, drugs of the Medhya Rasayan class in Cardimap, (safe and well-tolerated drugs that enhance a person’s mental and adaptive qualities: memory, concentration, flexible thinking, creativity, etc.) provide the anti-stress effect of the drug:

Shankhapushpi helps normalize metabolic processes in brain cells and is considered a muscle relaxant and anticonvulsant. It helps with anxiety and brings significant relief from neuroses.

Brahmi also falls under the category of Medhya Rasayan. It is a clinically proven cardiotonic, sedative, and neuromuscular blocker. Brahmi has a moderate tranquilizing effect and enhances the effect of reserpine.
